The objective of a Death Cafe is “to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives”. The experience will be a group discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session. Death Cafes help people talk about death and dying in a supportive, unstructured way.
The Death Café approach, currently used in more than 81 countries worldwide, allows individuals to discuss difficult topics, increasing their self-awareness, potentially reducing death anxiety, and augmenting compassionate connections through conversation and personal sharing.
Death Cafes are always free, open to, and respectful of, people of all communities and belief systems, held in an accessible, respectful and confidential space, and have no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action.
Death Cafe Online is offered free of charge by Cory Bretz and Lianne Cohen. As End of Life Doulas, elder caregivers, and life review specialists, Lianne and Cory are committed to helping you and/or your loved ones live every moment fully, now, and right up to the very last breath.
